We exist to make a positive impact upon the City of Tucson by creating a family-oriented environment where all are welcome — a place where individuals and families can grow and flourish in faith and discover God's plan for their lives.

Our Mission

Celebrate God's Presence · Communicate God's Word · Demonstrate God's Love.

  • · Make heaven — and take as many people with us as possible.
  • · Holiness as a lifestyle.
  • · A member of RCCG in every family of all nations.
  • · Plant churches within reach of every community.
Our Origin Story

How the Redeemed Christian Church of God began.

A century-long story of surrender, covenant, and a promise that has carried this family to every corner of the earth.

A Seeker is Born

A son is born into the Akindayomi family of Ondo State, Nigeria. Raised among idol worshippers, he yearns from childhood to know "the God who created the earth and everyone on it."

Baptized in 1927 with the Church Missionary Society and later joining the Cherubim and Seraphim in 1931, his hunger for God only grows.

The Calling

A voice within begins to whisper, "You will be my servant." For seven years he resists — every business venture fails, debt mounts, peace disappears.

Totally broken, he yields: "Lord, I will go wherever you want me to go." God confirms the call through Jeremiah 1, Isaiah 41, and Romans 8, and promises to meet every need.

The Covenant

Pa Akindayomi leaves the Cherubim and Seraphim and starts the Glory of God Fellowship at 9 Willoughby Street, Ebute-Metta, Lagos — nine members strong. Miracles spread the news; the fellowship swells.

In a vision, words appear as if written on a blackboard: "The Redeemed Christian Church of God." Though he cannot read or write, Papa supernaturally copies them down. God covenants with him that this church will reach the ends of the earth, and that when Jesus appears in glory, He will meet the church.

The fellowship eventually relocates from 9 Willoughby Street to the church's present headquarters at 1–5 Redemption Way, Ebute-Metta, Lagos (formerly 1a Cemetery Street).

He said that the Lord would meet all the needs of the church in an awesome way, if only members would serve Him faithfully and be obedient to His Word.

The Successor

A young university lecturer, Enoch Adejare Adeboye, joins the church in 1973 while teaching Mathematics at the University of Lagos. He becomes one of the interpreters translating Papa's Yoruba sermons into English. In the Spirit, Papa recognizes him as the successor God had spoken of years earlier. He is ordained a pastor in 1975.

Before his passing in 1980 at age 71, Papa shares the covenant and plans of God with Pastor Adeboye. His appointment is formalized by a sealed pronouncement read after his burial.

A Global Explosion

Under Pastor Adeboye's leadership, the church erupts across nations — around 40,000 parishes in Nigeria and 200+ in North America, with churches across Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, South America, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.

The monthly all-night Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption Camp on the Lagos–Ibadan expressway draws millions, and now holds around the world.
